Google published three documents for a language whose whole pitch was that gofmt ended style arguments. A canonical guide, a list of decisions for readability mentors, and best practices. Readability mentors are the people who gatekeep code review at Google. The formatter settled the whitespace. Humans still found plenty left to argue about.
