Google buried Gmail under summaries, auto-replies, and writing nags you cannot fully turn off. A sixteen-year user finally left for Fastmail. The features are not for you. They exist to juice AI usage numbers so somebody can put a bigger figure in a slide deck. The product got worse so the metric could get better.
