Kevin Bankston opened his tax return in Google Drive and Gemini summarized it without being asked. When he found the toggle, Gemini summaries for Gmail, Drive and Docs were already switched off. Google says Gemini requires a user to “proactively enable it.” Google also suggested he try closing the side panel. A setting that is off and still running is not a setting.
