Broadcom bought VMware to squeeze the customers, not to build anything. Per-core subscriptions, killed perpetual licenses, take-it-or-leave-it renewals. Now Gartner says more than half of enterprises will be shopping for the exit. Broadcom does not care. It will milk the other 45 percent harder to make up the difference.
