Gallup surveyed 4,556 adults and found the wellbeing score tops out at six neighbors greeted. Adults under 30 greet 2.9 on average. People 65 and older greet 6.5. Households earning $120,000 or more greet more too. Older, richer people are happier and also say hello more. Gallup measured a correlation and the headline sells it as advice.
