Meta’s Android codebase now has more than 10 million lines of Kotlin, with Facebook, Messenger and Instagram each past a million. The selling points are null safety and shorter code. The cost is slower builds, which Meta saw coming and paid anyway. Only a company with Meta’s build farm can shrug that off.
