“A metal G clamp and strips of a Silicon Valley Bank credit card under the SSD to support the PCB.”

A Seagate Firecuda 530 died mid-game after months of use. It worked after 30 minutes in a freezer at -18C, then failed again as it warmed. The fix was squeezing one chip with a G clamp and a heatsink cut from a carpentry square, then a hot air blower on the bad joint. A premium NVMe drive failed on a solder connection, and the only backup plan was a clamp and a dead bank’s credit card.
