“The model asserts that when people flip an ordinary coin, it tends to land on the same side it started – DHM estimated the probability of a same-side outcome to be about 51%.”

Fifty researchers flipped coins 350,757 times to test a 2007 physics model. Coins landed on the starting side 50.8% of the time, with a credible interval of 50.6% to 50.9%. That is a small edge, but it is real and it is repeatable. Every “fair” coin toss gives an edge to whoever sees which side faces up.
