F-Droid has about 4,000 apps. Google Play brags about millions, and most of them are ad farms, clones and malware. Every store curates. Apple and Google just do it in secret and take 30 percent. Letting users pick whose curation they trust is the obvious fix, and the duopoly fights it every step.
