The EU launched DNS4EU as a sovereign alternative to Google and Cloudflare DNS. EU funding ends after 2025, so it has to make money from paid tiers. It says it will follow local rules required of ISPs, which in Europe means blocking orders. A free resolver with a funding cliff and a blocklist mandate is a hard sell.
