AES Andes wants a 3,000-hectare hydrogen and ammonia complex 5 to 11 km from Paranal. That is the darkest observing site on Earth, with multi-billion-euro telescopes already built. ESO asks for the plant to move, not to be cancelled. The telescopes cannot move.
