On Wednesday Apple cited a 2021 US court ruling to justify banning Epic Sweden. Within 48 hours the European Commission asked questions and Apple folded. Apple now says Epic “committed to follow the rules,” as if the Commission had nothing to do with it. Apple’s principles lasted exactly as long as a regulator stayed quiet.
