A student linked to snippets of Proctorio’s code to show what the spyware does. Proctorio filed DMCA takedowns and Twitter pulled the tweets. The code was Proctorio’s. The criticism was the problem. Copyright law keeps getting used as a censorship tool because a takedown costs nothing to file.
