“Apple requires W^X (Write Xor Execute) conformance for native macOS M1 applications.”

The M1 ran Dolphin’s x86 JIT through Rosetta and still outran comparable Intel Macs. Going native meant the emulator had to stop marking memory as writable and executable at once. The hardest part was build infrastructure, which meant renting Macs from MacStadium. On iOS Apple forbids executable memory outright, so Dolphin can’t officially ship there at all.
