“If you opt for a face-scan, Discord says the age estimation is performed on your device, so is not uploaded or stored. If you choose ID, the scan will be uploaded, but will be deleted after verification.”

Discord now scans faces or IDs to check ages in the UK and Australia. Users judged underage get banned. Discord says face scans stay on the device and IDs get deleted. Those are Discord’s promises, and a US rollout is expected next.
