“We billed DEFCON for our most recent work, discounting our labor by 25% in order to meet the agreed upon targets.”

A five-person shop built a 30k-unit badge around an unreleased Raspberry Pi chip, then got a June work stoppage and no pay for work already done. DEFCON’s take-it-or-leave-it offer was well under half of a bill already discounted 25%, and the vendor is still out the cost of parts it bought. The conference also revoked the team’s badges, credit and spot in the badge talk. Punk ethos, corporate accounts payable.
