Denmark published the model its finance ministry uses to score policy, with the equations, parameters and data on GitHub. Anyone can now check the assumptions behind the government’s numbers. Most governments treat their forecasting model as a black box and the result as gospel. Open code makes it a lot harder to fudge a budget score quietly.
