Synadia gave NATS to the CNCF in 2018 and now wants it back under a license that is not open source. CNCF paid it $10,000 to transfer the trademarks, and it never did. Over 700 other organizations contributed to the project. Donating a project and reclaiming it once it is valuable is a bait and switch.
