One search string finds peer-reviewed papers with ChatGPT’s own preamble still pasted in, opening with “Certainly, here is a concise summary of the provided sections.” The authors didn’t read their own papers. Neither did the reviewers or the editors who published them. Peer review is supposed to catch fabricated results, and it can’t even catch a chatbot saying hello.
