AB 2426 takes effect January 1, 2025 and bans “buy” and “purchase” unless the store says plainly that you are getting a license. Ubisoft pulled licenses to The Crew after shutting its servers, and that is what got the bill written. Stores can still take your games back. They just have to admit it first.
