“Materials needed to lay track along the 119-mile segment will be 100% state funded.”
California’s high-speed rail project now has nearly 80 miles of guideway complete across Madera, Fresno, Kings, and Tulare counties, with nearly 60 major structures finished and over 30 more underway. The 119-mile Central Valley segment has up to 1,700 workers on site daily. Track installation began at a 150-acre railhead in Kern County earlier this year, and the Authority issued a $3.5 billion request for proposals covering track, electrification, and train control. Track laying is set to begin in 2026.
