Windows 11 swaps normal https links for a microsoft-edge: scheme that only Edge will open. Your default browser setting doesn’t matter. Brave and Firefox now copy the parsing logic from one developer’s workaround to grab those links back. Microsoft got hauled to court over browser bundling twenty years ago. It learned to do it through URL schemes instead.
