Brave bought Tailcat, the index left over from Cliqz. Cliqz was a privacy browser that tried to beat Google and shut down last year. So Brave’s plan to beat Google is to buy the corpse of the last company that tried. A real index costs billions to keep fresh. Promises are cheaper.
