In November 2020 an Apple OCSP outage stopped Macs worldwide from launching apps. Apple responded with a support page promising an encrypted protocol, server-failure protections and a user opt-out. The opt-out never shipped. On September 26, 2023, the day Sonoma came out, Apple quietly deleted the promises and redirected the old URL.
