Apple’s headline is 75 million songs in lossless ALAC. The fine print pushes Dolby Atmos by default on AirPods and Beats, a format Apple and the labels control. The press release never says which of its own headphones can play the lossless files. The free price tag is aimed at Spotify, not at your ears.
