“For Apple employees, the Apple ecosystem is not a walled garden. It is a prison yard.”
Apple requires staff to work on Apple devices, and most end up using their own, signed into personal iCloud accounts, under software that shows the company their real-time location. Apple’s own policy says data on those devices, including photos and emails, is “subject to search by Apple.” It also “actively discourages” work-only iCloud accounts, the one way out. The privacy company sells privacy to customers and takes it from the people who build the products.
