Elixir wants a piece of the numerical computing pie that Python owns. A notebook is the price of entry, so the team built one. Notebooks save as a subset of Markdown, so they diff and share like any other text file. Python’s lead in data science is libraries, not notebooks, and that gap is a lot wider.
