Andy Jassy says three days a week in the office will “strengthen” culture. Amazon announced the mandate weeks after confirming more than 18,000 layoffs. Jassy also admits the offices won’t be ready and will improve “over the coming months (and years).” A mandate that ships before the desks do is about headcount, not collaboration.
