Amazon’s first on-site electrolyzer in Aurora, Colorado will fuel about 225 forklifts. Amazon calls it a step toward decarbonizing by 2040, and has no timeline for running it on renewables. Its carbon footprint has grown about 39 percent since it made that 2040 pledge. Until then, the green fuel is mostly fossil power with extra steps.
