Amazon’s total stake reaches $8 billion and it still gets no board seat. What it does get is AWS as Anthropic’s “primary cloud and training partner” and a commitment to Amazon’s own chips. AWS customers also get early access to fine-tuning Claude on their data. Amazon is paying Anthropic to become a Trainium customer.
